What is this consultation about?
Bradford Council is applying to the Department for Transport to transfer enforcement of certain traffic restrictions from the Police to address bad driving behaviour and improve road safety on the district’s roads. These powers will allow the Council to enforce certain types of road traffic restrictions including yellow box junctions, one-way roads and illegal turns. As part of the application process the Council is seeking the views of the travelling public about their support for the council taking on these powers and improving the safety of the highway network.
Currently, the Council are considering adopting these new powers at four locations in the district:
• Yellow box junction between Godwin Street and Westgate
• Yellow box junction between Godwin Street and Sunbridge Road
• One-way system on Great Horton Road outside the Alhambra
• No right turn restrictions in both directions on the junction of Shipley Airedale Road and Leeds Road
We want to hear your thoughts or concerns about the Council taking on these powers for the locations above.
