Consultation

Bradford city centre walking and cycling improvements

Purpose of the consultation

Bradford Council, in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, is looking to make it easier to walk, cycle and use public transport in the city centre.

The plans will reshape Bradford city centre by improving walking and cycling routes, removing traffic from some roads and introducing new green outdoor spaces for people to enjoy.

Some of the plans include:

  • Removing motor traffic from Hall Ings, creating a major new linear park and making it easier to get around the city centre by cycling and walking;
  • Removing Jacobs Well Round, and installing a new supercrossing to enable people to get between City Park and the cultural quarter more easily;
  • Removing motor traffic from Little Horton Lane between the National Science and Media Museum and the junction with Prince’s Way, creating a new pocket park;
  • Re-routing buses around the city centre with eight new major bus hubs with improved facilities for waiting passengers; and
  • Opening a public transport corridor on Well Street and Vicar Lane to complement the re-routing of buses.

This is the second round of consultation and we would like your feedback on the updated proposed plans.
