School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2024

 

Notice is hereby given that City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has made the following Orders on the 21st March 2024 under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit the driving of vehicles other than as set out in each order within the stated time periods on the following lengths of road:

 

  1. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Horton Park Primary School (Dawnay Road, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2024 in the length of:

                   i.         Dawnay Road from a point 7 metres north of the projected northern kerb line of Tamar Street, to a point 48 metres west of the projected western kerb line of Powell Avenue, during the hours 8:25 am – 8.50 am and 3:00 pm – 3:25 pm, from 1st September to 31st July

 

  1. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council The Academy at St James (Chelwood Drive, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2024 in the length of:

                                 i.         Chelwood Drive, Bradford from a point 81 metres south of its junction with Bracewell Avenue, to a point 3 metres east of the projected eastern kerb line of Sandalwood Mews, during the hours 8:30 am – 9:00 am and 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm, from 1st September to 31st July

The impact of the Experimental Orders will be monitored and assessed whilst the Orders are in operation allowing measures to be modified or removed. The Experimental Orders are not absolute and are subject to exemptions including residents permit holders, emergency, service vehicles and Blue Badge Holders.  

 

The Orders come into force on the 15th April 2024 and a copy of the Orders together with maps showing the affected roads may be examined below , or obtained from the Traffic & Road Safety South team, by telephone on 01274431000 or by email school.streets@bradford.gov.uk quoting reference number HS/TRSS/105706/SA.

 

Within 6 months of coming into force of the Experimental Orders, or within 6 months of any future modification, any person may object. The Council will consider whether or not the provisions of the Experimental Orders should continue in force indefinitely. Any such representation should be sent in writing to the Planning, Transportation & Highway Services, Assistant Director, 4th Floor, Britannia House, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX or emailed to school.streets@bradford.gov.uk no later than 12 noon on the 14th October 2024 stating the grounds on which it is made.

 

If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it, have not been complied with in relation to the Orders, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Orders were made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
