The Council has prepared a Clean Air Plan (CAP) in line with Ministerial Direction to achieve compliance with legal levels of air quality in the shortest possible timeframe.
The Executive is asked to consider the final business case for the CAP.

1) Approval to introduce a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) in Bradford at the beginning of 2022
2) Approval to award grant funding and provide certain exemptions to vehicle operators affected by the CAZ
3) Approval to undertake Statutory consultation on the CAZ Charging Scheme Order (CSO)

Consultation process
3 consultation exercises, including full public consultation from 18 Feb to 8 April 2020 on the Council’s preferred option to improve air quality.
The Charging Scheme Order (CSO) will be subject to Statutory public consultation for 6 weeks
Full public consultation included:
-letters to all Bradford business
- Roadside VMS information
-consultation events in Bradford, Shipley and Ilkley
-social media, press releases and website information
The CSO will be publicised in line with Government Regulations
