We the undersigned petition the council to We are requesting remedial measures on Bankfield Road because each year there are accidents occurring due to the icy conditions. A few weeks ago there was a crash with multiple cars written off. Due to the seriousness, it was attended by the Police. Cars drive down Bankfield Road in an unsafe manner, using it like a rat run. The car crashes occur at the same spot at the area where Bankfield Avenue is located. It has been suggested that the top of Bankfield Road is blocked or other measures introduced to slow the traffic down.
Its been assessed as being gritted as Tier 2 but it is unclear
whether it was gritted in the latest incident 26 January 2025.
Permanent measures would help to prevent further accidents and
potential injuries
