With the new development of the houses, with the main entrance to the new builds being on Moorside Mews, the traffic at this junction is getting worse. It is harder to pull out safely without waiting for long periods of time or accelerating quickly out of the junction. As more houses are built, the traffic at this junction is going to increase, more drivers are going to be impatient and more risks are going to be taken. With the new Lidl complex being built there is also more traffic on Harrogate Road. In the last year there has already been a couple of crashes and lots of near misses. It's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.

Traffic lights at this junction will allow safe access onto Harrogate Road as well as reduce speeding on the road. It will also help people gain access from the Co-op below and Leeds Road above.
