Notice is hereby given that City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has made the following Order on 12 September 2024 under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to introduce prohibition of driving at Girlington Primary, Kensington Street, Bradford:

 

‘Prohibition of Driving – Road Closure’ prohibit driving of motor vehicles on a length of:

  • Girlington Primary, Kensington Street, Bradford - from its intersection with the northern kerb line of Birch Street, to a point 82 meters in a northerly direction.
  • The timings for the prohibition of driving will be ‘8:15am - 9:20am’ and ‘2:40pm – 3:25pm’, Monday to Friday (Excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays in England) from 1 September to 31 July.

 

The impact of the Experimental Order will be monitored and assessed whilst the Order is in operation allowing measures to be modified or removed. The Experimental Order is not bsolute and are subject to exemptions including councils refuse vehicles and emergency service vehicles where appropriate.

 

The Order comes into operation on the 12 September 2024 and a copy of the Orders together with maps showing the affected roads may be found below or obtained from Shahid Aziz, Engineer - Traffic & Road Safety South - Planning, Transportation & Highways at Shahid.Aziz@bradford.gov.uk quoting reference number HS/TRSS/105706/SA.

 

Within 6 months of coming into force of the Experimental Order, or within 6 months of any future modification, any person may object. The Council will consider whether or not the provisions of the Experimental Order should continue in force indefinitely. Any such representation should be sent in writing to the Planning, Transportation & Highway Services, Assistant Director, 4th Floor, Britannia House, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX or emailed to school.streets@bradford.gov.uk no later than 12 noon on the 12 March 2025 stating the grounds on which it is made.

 

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it, have not been complied with in relation to the Orders, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Orders were made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
