Various School Streets Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders 2021
Notice is hereby given that City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council made the following Orders on 15 June 2021 under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit the driving of vehicles within the stated time periods on the following lengths of road:
1. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Girlington Primary School (Kensington Street, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Kensington Street, Bradford from its intersection with the northern kerb line of Birch Street, to its junction with Thorn Street between 8:40am – 9:20am and 2:40pm – 3:35pm from 1st September to 31st July;
2. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Grove House Primary School (Myers Lane, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Myers Lane, Bradford from its intersection with the western kerb line of Grove House Road to its junction with Hodgson Fold. Hodgson Fold in its entirety between 8:30am – 9:10am and 2:50pm – 3:30 pm, from 1st September to 31st July;
3. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council High Crags Primary Leadership Academy (Pratt Lane, Shipley) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Pratt Lane, Shipley in its entirety. Kitson Street, in its entirety. Prospect Street, from its intersection with the northern kerb line of Pratt Lane, to a point 121m east of the eastern kerbline of Crag Road between 8:25am – 9:15am and 2:50pm – 3:50 pm from 1st September to 31st July;
4. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Ley Top Primary School (Avenel Road, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Avenel Road, Bradford between its junction with Allerton Grange Drive, and its junction with Wanstead Crescent. Thurston Gardens, in its entirety between 8:10am – 9:00 am and 12:40pm – 3:35 pm from 1st September to 31st July;
5. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Newhall Park Primary School (Newhall Road, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Broughton Avenue, Bradford in its entirety. Newhall Road in its entirety. Bell House Crescent in its entirety, between 8:10am – 9:20am and 2:20pm – 3:35pm from 1st September to 31st July;
6. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council St Stephen's CofE Primary School (Gaythorne Road, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Bowling Old Road, Bradford between its junction with Newton Street and its junction with St Stephen’s Road, Loughrigg Street, between its junction with Newton Street, and its junction with Bowling Old Road between 8:25am – 9:35am and 2:25pm – 3:35pm from 1st September to 31st July;
7. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council St Mathew’s CofE Primary School & Nursery (Ivy House Road, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Ivy House Road, Bradford in its entirety between 8:40am – 9:20am and 1:10pm – 3:35pm from 1st September to 31st July;
8. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Shipley CofE Primary School (Otley Road, Shipley) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Birklands Road, Shipley in its entirety, Unnamed back street to the south of Birklands Road, in its entirety, between 8:25am – 9:35am and 2:25pm – 3:35 pm from 1st September to 31st July; and
9. City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Westminster Ce Primary Academy (Westminster Road, Bradford) School Street Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2021
Westminster Road, Bradford in its entirety. Westminster Place in its entirety. Westminster Terrace in its entirety. 3 no. unnamed back streets, between their junctions with Westminster Road and their terminations. 1no. unnamed back street, between its junction with Prospect Road and its termination, Northallerton Road, in its entirety between 8:10am – 8:50am and 2:20pm – 3:00pm from 1st September to 31st July.
The impact of the Experimental Orders will be monitored and assessed whilst the Orders are in operation allowing measures to be modified or removed. The Experimental Orders are not absolute and are subject to exemptions including residents permit holders, emergency, service vehicles and Blue Badge Holders.
The Orders come into force on 28 June 2021 and a copy of the Orders together with a map showing the affected roads may be examined below or obtained from Nathan Copley, Senior Engineer, Planning, Transportation & Highways by telephone on 07977 030955 or by email Nathan.Copley@bradford.gov.uk quoting reference number PTH/HS/104491.
Within 6 months of coming into force of the Experimental Orders, or within 6 months of any future modification, any person may object. The Council will consider whether or not the provisions of the Experimental Orders should continue in force indefinitely. Any such representation should be sent in writing to the Planning, Transportation & Highway Services, Assistant Director, 4th Floor, Britannia House, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX or emailed to Nathan.Copley@bradford.gov.uk no later than 14 December 2021 stating the grounds on which it is made.
If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it, have not been complied with in relation to the Orders, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Orders were made on 15 June 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
