Consultation

West Yorkshire Devolution

Purpose of the consultation

Take part in the consultation on the West Yorkshire devolution deal and proposals for a directly elected mayor.

Consultation

In March 2020, leaders of the five West Yorkshire councils secured a £1.8billion devolution deal with government. This will see a historic transfer of powers and investment from central government to our region.

The deal means decisions across key areas will be taken in West Yorkshire by people who know and understand the region.

Key areas include:

·         better transport

·         skills

·         the economy

·         tackling the climate emergency

This will bring huge benefits for rural and urban communities, and for people’s quality of life.

Have your say

You can take part in the consultation from 25 May to 19 July on the devolution deal and proposals for a directly elected mayor.
