Consultation

Active Travel Fund cycle parking consultation

Purpose of the consultation

Bradford Council is launching an online consultation asking for your suggestions as to where and what type of cycle parking should be provided in our district.

A growing number of people have started cycling during lockdown, either for fitness, leisure or commuting, so ensuring places to safely park bicycles is becoming an important issue.

Whether you are a member of the public who’d cycle to the corner shop if you could fasten your bike up safely or a business or community organisation keen to encourage cyclists to your location we are keen to hear from you to ensure the correct locations are chosen for cycle parking.

The consultation will run from 1 March to 5 April.

The project is part of a number of measures being developed by the Council to promote more walking and cycling in the district in response to Covid-19 and to ease the pressure on public transport.  The West Yorkshire Combined Authority has been awarded £12.5 million from the Department for Transport’s Active Travel Fund to deliver these schemes.
