Purpose of the consultation
Bradford Council is asking people for their views on two new draft strategies - the Housing Strategy for the district, and the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy.
The Housing Strategy sets out the long-term vision for the district to ensure that everyone has a place to call home which meets their needs and in which they can thrive. This Strategy has been developed from a series of stakeholder sessions held over Summer 2019.
There is a statutory requirement for all local authorities to produce and publish a Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy. This strategy has been developed by a project group of all the main partners involved in helping to tackle homelessness across the district.
The Council intends to adopt both strategies later this year, which will then inform future actions, initiatives and service developments relating to housing and homelessness over the lifetime of the strategies. A wide range of partners will be actively involved in contributing to the strategies’ objectives.
Please see the links below to read the draft strategies.
This consultation is open to everyone including partner agencies, developers, investors, service providers, voluntary sector organisations, service users, community groups and the wider public.
We are seeking views on both strategies, but you may wish to comment on just one. Please make it clear in your response which of the strategies you are commenting on.
The consultation period will run from 24 September 2019 to 21 October 2019.
People should make their comments by 5pm on 21 October 2019
