Purpose of the consultation

Local people can now have a direct and active say in helping to shape development in the area in which they live through ‘neighbourhood planning’.

Addingham Parish Council has produced a Neighbourhood Development Plan which covers the Addingham Parish Council boundary. The Plan contains a vision for Addingham along with a set of objectives, planning policies and proposals to achieve the vision. The planning policies within the Plan seek to protect the character of Addingham seek to protect the character of Addingham with policies guiding new development, including housing, Addingham local businesses and community facilities, employment opportunities, improve transport network, as well as protection policies relating to local greenspaces and resilience to climate change.

The Plan, if successful during an independent examination and then at a local referendum, will form part of the Local Plan for the Bradford District. Any planning applications submitted within the boundary will be determined in accordance with this plan.
