EMPLOYMENT AND SKILLS UPDATE The report of the Assistant Director, Office of the Chief Executive (Document “H”) provides an update on how the district’s approach to employment and skills is being implemented in Bradford West. It covers some of the key challenges in the district, our strategic response as a partnership, activity at an area level and our future plans.
Recommended –
(1) To note the content of this report, the challenges faced by the Bradford District and the strategic response.
(2) To welcome the continued impact and progress of the partnership and promote this within members’ wider networks.
(3) To consider how their connections and networks can support the partnership to expand its reach in Bradford West.
(4) To bring a follow up report in 12 months.

The report of the Strategic Director, Place (Document “I”) provides information on the Capital Highway Maintenance funding element of the Local Transport Plan for 2025/26 and makes recommendations on the allocation for Non-classified road resurfacing schemes and Surface Dressing sites in the Bradford West constituency.
Recommended –
That the Bradford West Area Committee approves the proposed list of schemes for 2025/26 as shown in Appendices 1 and 2.

ALLERTON ROAD, BRADFORD - PETITION The report of the Strategic Director Place (Document “J”) considers a petition requesting a formal pedestrian crossing on Allerton Road near to its junction with Garforth Street
Recommended –
(1) That an item for a formal pedestrian crossing on Allerton Road be maintained on the list of schemes awaiting funding from the Safe Roads budget and is also given consideration as and when alternative funding sources become available.
(2) That the carriageway markings in the vicinity of the refuge will be assessed and refreshed if required
(3) That the lead petitioner is informed accordingly

ANNUAL UPDATE ON ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION, TRAINING AND PUBLICITY IN THE BRADFORD DISTRICT The report of the Strategic Director, Place (Document “K”) seeks to update members on current casualty levels and trends in the Bradford District and on the Road Safety Education, Training and Publicity initiatives aimed at preventing these casualties.
Recommended –
(1) Acknowledge the significant role of the Road Safety Team’s education, training, and publicity initiatives in reducing casualties and promoting safer road behaviours across Bradford District, with particular success among vulnerable young road users.
(2) Endorse the continued exploration of enhanced road safety education opportunities that would enable the team to reach a broader range of schools and community groups, reinforcing safe road behaviours at all levels.
(3) Emphasise the importance of collaboration with regional partners, law enforcement, and community organisations, reinforcing the reach and sustainability of the district’s road safety objectives.
(4) Promote initiatives that encourage public participation in road safety, including interactive events and digital campaigns aimed at building a culture of safety and responsibility across the district.
